A Self Care Journal

Being a teenager is super exciting however it is inevitably filled with its own set of challenges that can sometimes feel insurmountable. As I began my journey towards better mental health and well-being, I discovered the practice of journaling. Visualizing and writing down my thoughts and feelings with the help of specific prompts and activities allowed me to pause, reflect on, and process difficult emotions and situations constructively without feeling completely overwhelmed.

A self care journal can act as a starting point to one’s healing journey. It serves as a tool for healing by providing a dedicated space for introspection, fostering self-awareness, and promoting a mindful and intentional approach to personal growth.

Ananya Baig

Ananya Baig is a Grade 12 student at the Shri Ram School, Moulsari. She has a keen interest in psychology and hopes to become a child psychologist in the future. Currently, she is pursuing the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Psychology as one of her higher-level subjects.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ananya started the Dayaaluta Project, also known as the Kindness Project, to create awareness about the importance of mental health and to normalize conversations around it. She also started a podcast to talk about the same.

Having gone through her own struggles and witnessing the challenges faced by her peers and friends, she understands the need for young people of all ages to feel safe and empowered to identify, seek help, and talk about mental health issues they might be facing.

Ananya's goal is to break the stigma and taboo around mental health and make a positive impact in her community.
